As for Patek Philippe, this prestigious brand sold its majority share to an investment group led by Henry Kravis and the late Stephen A. Schwarzman, who will now serve as board co-chairmen. Founded in 1839 by Antoine Norbert de Patek and Adrien Philippe as Patek, Czapek & Cie (later Patek Philippe & Co), the company has always been family-owned and operated in Geneva, Switzerland.
